'One kind word’ makes the world a better place

In this chaotic world, something as simple as ‘one kind word’ may be what gives people hope, changing their attitudes and feelings for the better or even turning a bad day into a good one.

King’s College International School Bangkok celebrated International Anti-Bullying Week, with a central theme this year of ‘one kind word’. This served as an opportunity to encourage our students to learn to communicate positively and kindly to people around them. In this way, we can spread positive energy among ourselves and help prevent the risk of bullying. Apart from that, we also organised Odd Socks Day to celebrate World Kindness Day. Our students loved wearing a variety of mismatched socks, pairing clashing colours and lengths to promote the idea that the world has so many different and unique people, all of which deserve respect and understanding.

Though this may seem a somewhat small step to make students more aware of the words they say and the importance of exercising kindness in all areas of their life daily when interacting with different humans, King’s Bangkok believes it’s the best way to gradually nurture them to have a kind heart and empathy for things around them.

ท่ามกลางโลกที่วุ่นวาย หนึ่งคำพูดที่เป็นมิตรอาจเป็นห้วงเวลาของความหวังที่ช่วยเปลี่ยนแปลงมุมมอง ความรู้สึก หรือเปลี่ยนหนึ่งวันของใครบางคนให้กลายเป็นวันที่ดีได้

โรงเรียนนานาชาติคิงส์คอลเลจกรุงเทพ ขอร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการรณรงค์ต่อต้านการกลั่นแกล้ง โดยธีมหลักของการรณรงค์ในปีนี้ คือ “One kind word” ถือเป็นการส่งเสริมให้นักเรียนได้สื่อสารกันในเชิงบวกและเป็นมิตรต่อคนรอบตัว เพื่อเป็นการส่งต่อพลังงานที่ดีและร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการหยุดยั้งการกลั่นแกล้ง นอกจากนี้ เรายังจัดกิจกรรม Odd Socks Day เพื่อเฉลิมฉลอง World Kindness Day โดยเราให้นักเรียนสวมใส่ถุงเท้าแบบที่แปลกตาและใส่แต่ละข้างไม่เหมือนกัน เพื่อให้พวกเขาได้เห็น และเรียนรู้ที่จะยอมรับความแตกต่างในสังคมที่พวกเขาอยู่

นี่อาจเป็นเพียงกิจกรรมเล็ก ๆ ที่นักเรียนได้มีส่วนร่วมและได้ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการใช้คำพูดที่เป็นมิตรและการเรียนรู้ถึงความแตกต่าง แต่คิงส์คอลเลจกรุงเทพเชื่อว่าการปลูกฝังเรื่องเช่นนี้ทีละเล็กละน้อย จะค่อย ๆ สร้างจิตใจที่มีเมตตาและหล่อหลอมให้เด็ก ๆ ของเรามีความเข้าใจในเรื่องต่าง ๆ ได้มากขึ้น
