Celebrating Loy Krathong Festival at King’s Bangkok

This year, Loy Krathong is another special day at King’s Bangkok. We invited all the children and parents to dress in Thai traditional dress and join us in the school parade led by long drums and Thai dancers to celebrate Loy Krathong. In addition, children enjoyed various performance activities from both the teachers and students, including learning about the traditions of Loy Krathong. They also enjoyed making their own Krathongs using equipment and tools provided by the school.

After finishing their Krathongs, Early Years students floated theirs in the private pool in their classrooms and Year 1-6 students brought theirs back home to float with their parents. As for senior school students, in addition to making traditional Krathongs, they also learnt about water conservation and the use of banana plants in daily life as well.

King's Bangkok would like to thank our team of teachers from the Thai department for organising the day's activities and events. We are delighted that our students could still get to know our traditions and enjoy these activities with their friends.

เทศกาลลอยกระทงปีนี้ ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งวันพิเศษที่นักเรียนได้ฉลองร่วมกันที่โรงเรียนนานาชาติคิงส์คอลเลจกรุงเทพ โดยเราได้เชิญชวนให้นักเรียนรวมไปถึงผู้ปกครองแต่งกายด้วยชุดไทยมาร่วมเดินขบวนกลองยาวและรำไทย เพื่อเฉลิมฉลองเทศกาลลอยกระทง นอกจากนี้เด็ก ๆ ยังได้ร่วมสนุกสนานไปกับกิจกรรมการแสดงต่าง ๆ ทั้งจากทีมครูและนักเรียน รวมไปถึงเรียนรู้เรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับประเพณีลอยกระทง อีกทั้งคุณครูของเรายังได้จัดเตรียมอุปกรณ์ทำกระทงไว้อย่างครบครัน เพื่อให้นักเรียนของเราได้ลงมือประดิษฐ์กระทงของตัวเองอีกด้วย

สำหรับนักเรียน Early Years เด็ก ๆ ได้นำกระทงของตัวเองไปลอยในสระน้ำที่ทางโรงเรียนจัดไว้ให้ตามห้องเรียนอย่างสนุกสนาน ส่วนนักเรียน Year 1 ถึง Year 6 จะได้นำกระทงกลับบ้านไปลอยร่วมกับผู้ปกครอง และส่วนของนักเรียน Senior School นอกจากจะได้ทำกระทงแบบดั้งเดิมแล้วจะได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับเรื่องการอนุรักษ์น้ำ และการนำต้นกล้วยมาใช้ประโยชน์ในชีวิตประจำวันอีกด้วย

คิงส์คอลเลจกรุงเทพขอขอบคุณ ทีมคุณครูแผนกภาษาไทยที่จัดกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ขึ้น เรารู้สึกดีใจที่เด็ก ๆ ได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับประเพณีดั้งเดิมและได้สนุกสนานกับการทำกิจกรรมร่วมกับเพื่อน ๆ
