Excellence in Science Learning for All – ASE Asia Conference 2026
Date: Friday 20th March 2026
Location: King’s College International School Bangkok, Thailand
The ASE Conference South East Asia is an annual event hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, by a network of International Schools. The event aims to provide world-leading speakers, with Professor Louise Archer, President of the ASE and Karl Mannheim Professor of Sociology of Education at UCL, providing the keynote, and workshops run by delegates in a wide range of areas within science pedagogy.
This year, the conference is looking to attract all science educators—whether KS1 (ages 5–7 in the UK) or KS5 (ages 18 in the UK)—as the conference strives for Excellence in Science Education for All. This is why I am so pleased to announce that Dr Hellen Ward, Associate Senior Research Fellow at Canterbury Christ Church University, will be joining us to run workshops focused on primary science.
The programme is designed by educators for educators, ensuring that workshops provide CPD opportunities relevant to today’s teachers and the context in which they work. The event also provides an opportunity to meet with the area's leading teachers and suppliers to build a network of supportive connections that will last far beyond the end of the one-day conference.
Another key area of the conference is the Philip Harris Technician Strand, led by Jaquiline McKie, which enables technicians to have access to high-quality CPD and be trained in areas from storage of glassware and chemicals to specific practicals such as Planck’s Constant or Brownian motion. This year, we are opening up more places for technicians, as well as having workshops run by technicians for technicians.
We are also very excited to announce that we will welcome Matt Endean, Deputy Director of CLEAPSS, the leading advisory service in the UK for science and technology. He will be running three dedicated workshops throughout the day.
