The Silent Prince Opera at King’s Bangkok

King’s Bangkok was proud to be part of the fully staged opera The Silent Prince, composed and directed by Thai National Artist Somtow Sucharitkul. The story follows Prince Temiya, a Bodhisattva who chooses a life of silence rather than harming anyone, exploring themes of growth, ethics, and family relationships in a contemporary style. The production featured internationally renowned opera soloists in the principal roles, alongside supporting performers from the Opera Siam Young Soloists Programme and Dance Company, accompanied by the Siam Sinfonietta under the baton of Trisdee na Patalung. This unique performance offered a rare, up-close experience of a timeless tale not seen in Thailand for over ten years.
