Celebrating Loy Krathong at King’s Bangkok

This year, King’s Bangkok marked Loy Krathong with a vibrant celebration showcasing Thai culture. Students, parents, teachers, and staff dressed in traditional Thai attire and enjoyed activities organised by the Thai Department, including a Thai music ensemble, the “Dancing in the Moonlight” performance, and lessons on the history, beliefs, and environmental impact of Loy Krathong. Students also learned to make traditional and recycled Krathongs, promoting creativity and sustainability.

The celebration was made even more special with the presence of Dr Anne Cotton, Head of King’s College School, Wimbledon and Mr Karl Gross, Director of International Schools at King’s Wimbledon, who joined us in experiencing the rich traditions and joyful atmosphere. Their participation highlighted the strong bond between our schools and shared appreciation for cultural exchange and celebration.

ปีนี้ คิงส์คอลเลจกรุงเทพจัดงานเฉลิมฉลองวันลอยกระทงอย่างมีชีวิตชีวา นำเสนอวัฒนธรรมไทยที่งดงาม โดยนักเรียน ครู ผู้ปกครอง และบุคลากรต่างสวมชุดไทยแบบดั้งเดิมและเพลิดเพลินกับกิจกรรมที่จัดโดยทีมครูแผนกภาษาไทย อาทิ วงดุริยางค์ไทย การแสดง “รำวงใต้แสงจันทร์” และบทเรียนเกี่ยวกับประวัติ ความเชื่อ และผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมของวันลอยกระทง นอกจากนี้ นักเรียนยังได้เรียนรู้วิธีการทำกระทงแบบดั้งเดิมและแบบรีไซเคิล เพื่อส่งเสริมความคิดสร้างสรรค์และความยั่งยืน

การเฉลิมฉลองครั้งนี้ยิ่งพิเศษขึ้นไปอีกเมื่อมี ดร. แอนน์ คอตตอน ครูใหญ่ของคิงส์คอลเลจวิมเบิลดัน และ มร. คาร์ล กรอส Director of International Schools เข้าร่วมสัมผัสประสบการณ์ประเพณีอันยาวนานและบรรยากาศที่สนุกสนาน การมีส่วนร่วมของพวกเขาเน้นย้ำถึงสายสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นระหว่างทั้งสองโรงเรียนและการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวัฒนธรรมและการเฉลิมฉลองร่วมกัน
