World Mathematics Championships 2024: Talent with effort brings you success

Our Years 11-12 students participated in the 2024 World Mathematics Championship (WMC), competing against 33 teams and 99 students from other international schools in Thailand (Years 11-13). They faced three rounds of challenges, comprising Duel – a quick 2-player maths game, Codebreaker – focusing on identifying patterns in number sequences, and Recall – testing mathematical knowledge with multiple-choice and open-response questions. The competition not only assessed mathematical skills but also required strategy, creativity, and teamwork. Seven of our students received golden tickets out of 99 participants, granting them the opportunity to compete in the final round in the UK! Furthermore, three of our students ranked among the top six individual achievers in the competition. Congratulations to our champions!

นักเรียนระดับชั้น Year 11 และ 12 ของคิงส์คอลเลจกรุงเทพได้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันคณิตศาสตร์ชิงแชมป์ระดับโลกประจำปี 2567 (World Mathematics Championship 2024) ซึ่งมีผู้เข้าร่วมแข่งขันจากทั่วประเทศรวม 99 คน แบ่งเป็น 33 ทีม โดยผู้เข้าแข่งขันต้องเผชิญกับการแข่งขันที่ท้าทายความสามารถทั้งหมด 3 รอบ: รอบ Duel – คณิตคิดเร็วระหว่างผู้เข้าแข่งขัน 2 คน รอบ Codebreaker – การแก้โจทย์อนุกรม และรอบ Recall – การทดสอบด้วยคำถามแบบปรนัยและคำตอบแบบปลายเปิด ซึ่งนอกจากทักษะทางคณิตศาสตร์แล้ว พวกเขายังต้องใช้กลยุทธ์และความคิดสร้างสรรค์ รวมถึงการทำงานร่วมกันเป็นทีม เพื่อให้ผ่านบททดสอบในแต่ละรอบอีกด้วย แม้จะต้องเผชิญกับโจทย์ที่ท้าทาย แต่เด็ก ๆ ก็สามารถคว้ารางวัลมาได้หลายรายการ โดยนักเรียน 7 คนของเรา สามารถคว้ารางวัล ‘Gold tickets’ ซึ่งมีเพียง 35 คนเท่านั้นที่ได้รางวัลนี้ ซึ่งพวกเขาได้รับโอกาสให้ไปแข่งขันต่อรอบสุดท้ายที่สหราชอาณาจักร นอกจากนี้ นักเรียนของเรายังทำคะแนนสูงสุดเป็น 3 อันดับแรก จาก 6 อันดับสูงสุดของการแข่งขันอีกด้วย เราขอแสดงความยินดีกับความสำเร็จของเด็ก ๆ ซึ่งเกิดจากความพยายามและความอุตสาหะของพวกเขา!
