11 a.m. on November 11th, 1918 marked the end of the First World War and each year since then, the occasion has been commemorated. We believe that honouring the memory of all those who have died in that war and subsequent conflicts is vital to show our appreciation for those who sacrifice themselves for our safety.

Last Friday, at King's Bangkok, we came together to remember all those who gave their lives while serving their country. While the students gathered outside on The Common, the names of all of the former King’s Wimbledon Students who died in the conflict were read in a moving personal act of remembrance. Following this, there was an opening speech by Mrs Sarah Raffray our Executive Principal and a set of poignant readings by both a student representative and Dr Anne Cotton, Head of King’s College School, Wimbledon. Everyone was invited to think about conflict and lives lost before the whole school held a minute of silence and reflection, punctuated by a student rendition of ‘The Last Post’. On Sunday, our student representatives attended the service at the British Club of Bangkok and paid their respects on behalf of the school.

ในวันที่ 11 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2461 เวลา 11.00 น. ถือเป็นการสิ้นสุดสงครามโลกครั้งที่หนึ่ง ตั้งแต่นั้นมา ทั่วโลกจึงมีผู้คนมากมายที่ใช้วันนี้ของทุก ๆ ปี ในการระลึกถึงผู้ที่จากไปจากการเสียสละตนเองในสงคราม เช่นเดียวกัน ที่โรงเรียนนานาชาติคิงส์คอลเลจกรุงเทพ ได้จัดให้มีการร่วมกันยืนสงบนิ่งเพื่อระลึกถึงความเสียสละเหล่านั้น ณ The Common ของโรงเรียน โดยมีดร.แอนน์ คอตตอน ครูใหญ่ของคิงส์คอลเลจวิมเบิลดัน และตัวแทนนักเรียนจากระดับชั้น Year 12 อ่านบทกวี และร่วมกันยืนสงบนิ่งเพื่อระลึกถึงความเสียสละเหล่านั้น
