Celebrating Songkran Festival at King’s Bangkok

The atmosphere is buzzing here at King's Bangkok as we celebrate the Songkran Festival, or Thai New Year's Day, on the last day before the term break. We had students, parents, and staff wear Thai-style costumes under the theme ‘Pa Khaw Maa’. The day started with an almsgiving to monks at the Long Walk, followed by various activities for students from Early Years to Senior School organised by our Thai department, all of which showcased and preserved beautiful Thai traditions. Some of the events included palm watering, building sand castles, performances by students and teachers such as Thai dancing, and House events that added to the unity within each House.
