To pursue certain fields in universities such as Architecture, Design, Engineering or Technology based specialisms, DT (Design and Technology) A-level is usually recommended and will be beneficial. With the prerequisite of DT GCSE prior to the A level, King’s College International School Bangkok wishes to provide a strong foundation for our students in this area of study.

In the Product Design ECA, which is led by Harry Roberts, Head of DT, who plans each step and provides guidance throughout, students will have a wide range of opportunities to learn about and take part in every stage of the design process. Students begin by gaining an understanding of each material and the stages necessary to create a meaningful product. Then, students plan the functionality and appearance of their projects, tailoring these to their project prompts. At this step, it is important to make sure that there is a good balance between creativity and practicality. Finally, they will then have access to any materials and equipment they may need in our fully equipped DT workshops.

King’s Bangkok has selected experienced and specialised teachers who are also masters in design, so that we can help to bring out our students' potential and shape them into well-rounded young men and women. We truly believe our highly experienced teachers, with the support of our state-of-the-art DT facilities, can provide knowledge and training through this tailored ECA, in turn offering better opportunities and learning experiences beyond curriculum for our students.
