Learn to set a goal and successfully pursue it through ECAs

At King's College International School Bangkok, we uphold the ethos of King's College School, Wimbledon, our sister school, that requires children to have an inquisitive mindset. Goal setting is another important skill for children because as the next generations grow into young people and accrue more knowledge, they will set goals and aim to successfully achieve them.

Therefore, being able to practically plan ahead for the future is something to which King’s Bangkok pays a great level of attention. We believe that life skills such as this may not only be acquired in class, but that students can personally learn how to set goals and work towards them by spending time pursuing their interests and training more specific areas in these.

Archery is one of the ECAs (extra-curricular activities) that we offer as an optional challenge for students who choose to participate in it. They move from aiming for large targets to progressively smaller ones; practice close and long-range shooting, which require different techniques and have their own relative set of obstacles; and have to regularly tweak their tactics depending on weather conditions.

The ECAs at King's Bangkok are one of three components of the broader co-curricular program, which also comprises CCAs; clubs and societies. These have been proven by King's Wimbledon to provide students with essential life skills and, more significantly, to create a cohort of happy students. With ECAs, we provide opportunities for children in which they must overcome obstacles so that they can become well-rounded adults after graduating, prepared to face any hurdles as they pursue their dreams of success in the future.
