Discovering students' identities and preparing for world-class universities

We are happy to welcome Hello! Education on campus again. This time we were invited to share our thoughts on how the school will help children to go further and achieve admissions at their dream universities. Headmaster Thomas Banyard reflected the practices that the school can support the child and family no matter what circumstance should be. Mr Banyard has direct experience in studying at the University of Oxford and teaching at King’s College School, Wimbledon, where over 90% of students achieved their first-choice universities. Consequently, he also offered insights towards what the leading universities look into the candidates and highlighted the inquisitive mindset as one of the key success factors to enable students to grow and become the person who can choose to pursue their dream universities.

เมื่อเร็ว ๆ นี้ เรามีความยินดีที่ได้ต้อนรับ Hello! Education อีกครั้ง โดยในครั้งนี้ทีมงานของ Hello! Education ได้ตั้งข้อสังเกตุเกี่ยวกับการคัดเลือกนักเรียนของมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำระดับโลกที่ไม่เพียงให้ความสำคัญเรื่องผลการศึกษา แต่ยังพิจารณาถึงคุณสมบัติอื่นๆ อาทิ ตัวตนและประสบการณ์ของผู้สมัคร จึงได้เรียนเชิญครูใหญ่ธอมัส บานยาร์ด หรือครูทอม มาร่วมแบ่งปันความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการดูแลบ่มเพาะศักยภาพของเด็กที่จะทำให้พวกเขาไปได้ไกลกว่าจนสามารถเอื้อมถึงมหาวิทยาลัยในฝัน

ครูทอม ในฐานะผู้ที่จบการศึกษาจากมหาวิทยาลัยอ๊อกซฟอร์ด และครูที่มีประสบการณ์การสอนจากโรงเรียนคิงส์คอลเลจวิมเบิลดัน โรงเรียนที่กว่า 90% ของนักเรียนสามารถสอบเข้ามหาวิทยาลัยที่เลือกเป็นอันดับแรก ได้บอกเล่าเรื่องราวเชิงลึกเกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่มหาวิทยาลัยที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลกมองหา และได้เน้นย้ำถึงหนึ่งในกุญแจสำคัญที่ไม่เพียงจะช่วยให้พวกเขาเข้ามหาวิทยาลัยที่ต้องการเท่านั้น แต่จะสามารถค้นพบตัวเองและสร้างสรรค์ทักษะการเรียนรู้ไปได้ตลอดชีวิต ซึ่งกุญแจที่ว่านั้นคือ การมีจิตใจใฝ่รู้สู่ปัญญาของนักเรียน นอกจากนี้ครูทอมยังได้บอกเล่าเรื่องราวที่จะเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้แก่พ่อแม่ผู้ปกครองและตัวนักเรียนเองในการสร้างจิตใจใฝ่รู้สู่ปัญญาดังกล่าว
