Growing Together with Kindness and Confidence

Growing up comes with new questions, friendships, and emotions. We build trusting relationships, so children feel safe to speak up, take risks, and grow into who they are.

Our Approach

A Network of Support Around Every Child

From form tutors to house communities, every child is surrounded by people and programmes designed to nurture their wellbeing, growth, and sense of belonging.

01

Our values and our behaviours charter

At King’s, our core values of Kindness, Good Manners, and Wisdom are the foundation of our community, underpinning everything we do. We expect all staff, parents, and children to embody these principles consistently. These values are deeply embedded in our school culture, ensuring every child understands them and can reflect on their own conduct. Our approach to behaviour management is positive, centred around 'behaviour commitments’ with ladders that children can ascend. When children inevitably make choices that may not align with our values, we prioritise reflective and restorative conversations. However, our behaviour charter also clearly outlines a 'consequences ladder' to ensure children learn from their actions and face appropriate consequences when necessary.

02

Safeguarding children

We are all involved in the pastoral care of our students and safeguarding our children is the most important part of this. We all take this very seriously and part of this is children identifying trusted adults in school. We also teach children how to keep safe in different situations including digital safety.

House System

Each child is a member of a house. Children from Year 1 are part of the house system. This helps give children a sense of belonging beyond their class group or year group, and to be part of the wider community, which includes senior students and staff. The houses collect house points for our values, and there is a range of house collaborative events and competitions weekly. Our house system gives numerous opportunities for children to do their best for a common cause, to exercise responsibility, to support charities, to build loyalty and respect
