 Andrew Halls, OBE

It is our honour to announce that King’s College School, Wimbledon’s Head Master Andrew Halls has been awarded an OBE for services to education in the New Year’s Honours List for 2020.

Andrew Halls has been Head Master of King’s College School, Wimbledon for twelve years and was previously Master of Magdalen College School, Oxford for nearly ten years. In addition to helping pupils at both schools attain the best public examination results in the UK, thereby becoming the only headteacher to win an Independent School of the Year award from The Sunday Times for two different schools, Mr Halls has campaigned in the media for a number of causes which include the ending of public exam grade inflation, improving mental health support for young people at school and university, the importance of good literature, the risks of social media addiction and the important role of independent schools in the national education system.

Mr Andrew Halls and Mr Thomas Banyard, Founding Head of King’s College International School Bangkok, are working closely together with a mutual aim for King’s College International School Bangkok to be one of the leading schools in Asia.
