Entry Process & Criteria


Primary School

Year 1

(Ages 5–6 years with consideration to summer-born children)


The route for all children aged 5–6 years who wish to join the King's Bangkok pre-preparatory school where year 1 classes are based. Applications can be made online through the school website. Please fill in all sections of the application form and submit it with all requested documents. At this time, parents are requested to pay the 5,000 baht application fee.

Entry Process All children will be assessed in small groups of 2 to 6 children. The children will be invited to play within this group without parent supervision. Each child will have a one-to-one assessment with a member of the admissions team in mathematics, phonics and reading. The assessment will end with a whole-group session to observe social interactions, focus and ability to follow instructions and a short writing task.
Supporting documents Supporting documents will have been submitted with the application form. Any additional supporting materials (details of any learning needs, medical conditions etc) must be submitted at this time.
Interviews Parents will be interviewed during their child/children's assessment. We aim to see if families understand the education that we have to offer and will support us in developing good manners, kindness and wisdom in our children.
Offers Offers of a place will be sent via letter and email within seven days of the assessment date. Parents will be asked to fill in the letter of acceptance and will be invoiced for the nonrefundable 225,000 baht registration fee. If offered a place on the waitlist, parents will be asked instead to pay a waitlist fee.
Next Steps Students and parents will be invited to school events held prior to the opening date in August each year to build our King's Bangkok community and make new friends.

Year 2
